| The objectives of the Devon Medieval Combat Alliance are to promote and foster the activities of medieval combat, dress and history through the colour, excitement and spectacle of the Medieval Tournament and demonstrate the social and military customs of the period at both private and public events. |
| For the last sixteen years the Devon Medieval Combat Alliance has performed throughout the southwest and the south of Wales, in both battle re-enactments as a group of Mercenary Skirmishers, now under our own standard and known as Excommunicati, and our own displays for the general public. | |

| Based in Bideford, Devon, for the last fifteen years the Devon Medieval Combat Alliance are available for Medieval Tourney’s, Weddings, Fetes, Banquets and Private Parties. The Devon Medieval Combat Alliance although based in Devon have performed though out the Country and have received invites from as far a field as Portugal and Malta. |
| All recruits joining the Devon Medieval Combat Alliance as combatants face a rigorous training regime. The technique of our live action displays having been developed by professional stuntmen, demand constant practice and to that effect we train fifty weeks a year. | |
| All roles, whether combatant or non-combatant, are welcome. All costumes are to be of reasonable authenticity {12th to 15th} century and all members are urged to study medieval history, as it is invaluable when answering questions from the public. |
| Families of all age groups are welcome with combat training and individual membership commencing at age 16. All members are expected to obtain their own costumes and specialised weapons within 6 months of joining the Dmca. | |
