Below is a list of the forthcoming re-enactments and live shows that the Devon Medieval Combat Alliance participate in throughout the year of 2011.

Sat 4th June - Sun 5th June Templecombe, Templecombe Medieval Pageant Location : Manor House, Templecombe, Somerset, England, situated on the A357 road five miles south of Wincanton, twelve miles east of Yeovil, The Dmca will unfortunately not be attending this event, but if you are in the area check it out!

 

Sat 18th - Sun 19th June Tatton Park, battle re-enactment and large market held around a restored medieval hall. Welcome to a weekend of Medieval Life. With all the usual meandering medieval folk, traders, and knights it’s sure to be a weekend to remember, for both public and re-enactors. This year we have Bigger, Better, Battle out on the meadow. Sat 10th - Sun 11th July Tewkesbury. The re-creation of the battle of Tewkesbury, featuring over 2000 re-enactors, from all over Europe will be the most spectacular ever –all we need to make it perfect is some lovely weather, and of course for you to turn up and enjoy it. Tewkesbury Medieval Festival takes place on fields off Lincoln Green Lane, part of the site of the original battle of Tewkesbury of 1471. Sat 16th – Sun 17th July Macclesfield 750th Charter Anniversary for further details check out www.macclesfieldrotaryevents.co.uk the Dmca are unfortunately unable to attend this event, but if your in the area check it out these events can only continue with public support.

 

Sat 23rd - Sun 24th July Azincourt located at Rue Charles VI Azincourt, France the Dmca are unavailable for this event, but if you are in the area check it out, these events can only continue with public support. www.azincourt-alliance.org.uk

 

Sat 23rd - Sun 24th July Slaughter bridge, Cornwall in conjunction with an archaeology event accurate 13th century kit required. More details to follow shortly. The Dmca will not be attending this event due to kit restrictions.

 

Sat 30th - Sun 31st July Berkeley Skirmish Welcome to a weekend of Medieval Life set in the grounds of the beautiful Berkeley Castle. Wander amongst the Living History camps and see up close and personal what it was like to be on tour with a medieval army, shop to your hearts content through the market place, with a wide variety of historic traders selling their wares. Sat 13th – Sun 14th August Camlann revisited located at Slaughter bridge, Cornwall, more details to follow shortly.

 

Sat 31st - July Sun 1st Aug Grafton Regis British Armoured Plate event, the battle weekend is centred round skirmishes between local noble households and historical events, there will be two battles day, Dark age and Medieval, this year is the 2nd year for this event. The Dmca are unavailable for this event, but if you are in the area check it out, these events can only continue with public support.

 

Sat 6th - Sun 7th Aug Midlands History Festival multi-period event located at Ragley Hall, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 5NJ. This is the 2nd event the Dmca are considering this event, but if you are in the area check it out, these events can only continue with public support.

 

Sat 27th – Sun 28th – Mon 29th August Herstmonceux Castle, Nestling within the Sussex countryside is a 15th century moated castle - Herstmonceux Castle. It is here, in this truly magical setting, that history comes to life. Held annually since 1992 over August Bank Holiday Weekend, England's Medieval Festival at Herstmonceux Castle is Britain's largest three day celebration of the Middle Ages! Entertainment for the whole family: mounted Skill-at-Arms Tournaments, Falconry displays, Have-A-Go-Archery, Archery Displays, and spectacular Grand Parades, Dates Confirmed, the Dmca will be in attendance, for more information visit; www.mgel.com

 

Sat 27th - Sun - 28th Mon - 29th Aug Military Odessy Kent Show Ground, Detling, Kent, ME14 3JF (Multi Period) The Dmca are unavailable for this event, but if you are in the area check it out, these events can only continue with public support. http://www.military-odyssey.com/

 

Sat 10th – Sun 11th Sept Caldicot a Re-enactment run by the Early Medieval Alliance, in the grounds of Caldicot Castle, the castle is open to the general public. Founded by the Normans, developed in royal hands as a stronghold in the middle Ages, the castle has a romantic and colourful history. Find out about its past with an audio tour, explore the medieval towers and take in the breath-taking views of the parklands and surrounding area from the battlements. See the full contact foot tournament and much more with the Day culminating in the spectacle of a clash of arms from this violent and colourful period. Dates confirmed members of the Dmca maybe in attendance, for more information keep an eye on this space.

 

Sat 17th - 18th Sept Leominster Medieval Fair a re-enactment of the battle of Mortimer’s Cross in 1461 .Wander amongst the Living History camps and see up close and personal what it was like to be on tour with a medieval army, shop to your hearts content through the market place, with the Day culminating in the spectacle of a clash of arms from this violent and colourful period. Dates confirmed the Dmca have not yet decided if it is possible to attend, but keep an eye on this space but if you are in the area check it out, these events can only continue with public support.
